The 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 WSMA Class AA State Champions!

The Greendale High School Marching Band is proud to present its 2008 competitive field show, "The Journey Within."

The 2008 Marching Band is 173 members strong, the largest in band history. The drum majors are Chelsea Giesige, Lauren Jones, and Gaby Davis. Color Guard captains are Talore Ruedt, Libby Robb, and Taylor Jarmes. The GHS Marching Band program is under the direction of Tom Reifenberg, assisted by Nikk Pilato, Visuals Design; Mark Wrobel, Visual Instruction; John Stolfe, Lauren Hafner, Alex Wasmer, and Rusty Edlund, Percussion Instruction; and Tami Hand and Katie Curran, Color Guard Instruction.

For the past four years, the GHS Marching Band has won the Class AA Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championship. The 2008 Marching Band also received the Best Musical Presentation, Best Visual Presentation, Best Percussion, awards, and took 2nd by 1/10th of a point for Best Color Guard. This season, the Marching Band competed at six shows and hosted its own competition, "The Greendale Preview of Champions", which was held on Saturday October 4th, 2008 at Gavinski Stadium.

The Marching Band is a component of a comprehensive band program at GHS. Students can perform in a variety of ensembles, including wind symphony, symphonic band, two full size jazz ensembles, pep band for basketball games, and a pit orchestra for the spring musical. Music theory and AP music theory courses are also offered.

The Marching Band would like to thank the Greendale School District, the Village of Greendale, and the Greendale Friends of Music for their continuous support, along with the many Marching Band parents that volunteer countless hours to make the program run.
