June 8th marked the end of the high school days for another group of senior football players and their classmates. With weather conditions on the stormy side, the 2008 Greendale High School Commencement Ceremony was be held indoors in the high school gym versus outdoors on the "Steven J. Gavinski Memorial Stadium" field. Unfortunately, the attendance was a little more limited do to the lack of available seating, but then on the other hand, those visitors that weren't able to attend didn't have to deal with the warm and humid conditions as the temperature slowly crept up from the accumulating body heat.
In the end, 15 former Panther football players would say good bye to their coaches, their teammates, and the football field and will now be referred to as alumni. This also will be the last senior class to play of a natural turf field at Greendale. Construction for the new artificial turf field was scheduled to begin immediately following graduation week.
On behalf of the Greendale Panther Touchdown Club, we would like to say farewell to the 15 football players from this year's graduating class. These guys were part of yet another Woodland Conference Championship season making that three in a row, and will be remembered as the year a "Dynasty" was started. Thanks a lot you guys and good luck with your future endeavors.
